The First Metro Philippine Equity Exchange-Traded Fund (FMETF) celebrated its 3rd year listing anniversary through an opening bell ringing ceremony last December 5, 2016 at the PSE Ayala in Makati City. This also marks the ETF Awareness Week celebration that is co-sponsored by The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) and the First Metro Group.
“Today marks an important event as we launch this collaboration with the FMETF that aims to fortify an information drive campaign on exchange-traded funds and increase participation among the investing public,” said Philippine Stock Exchange Chairman Jose Pardo in his welcome remarks. “Since the launching of the country’s first ETF in 2013, the PSE and the FMETF have jointly spearheaded numerous education programs aimed to better equip investors about the characteristics and value proposition of investing in exchange-traded funds,” he added.
“As the FMETF tracks closely the PSEi, it is but fitting to celebrate not just its performance but also the Philippine stock market.” said First Metro Asset Management, Inc. Chairman Francisco Sebastian.
